Drag and Drop

CrossPaste supports intuitive drag and drop operations, allowing you to easily drag pasteboard content to target applications, providing a more convenient user experience.

Drag Operations

Starting to Drag

1. In the CrossPaste search window, find the pasteboard content you want to use
2. Click and hold the left mouse button on the content item
3. Drag the mouse to the target application or location
4. Release the mouse button to complete the drag operation

Drop Operation

When you drag content to the main window:

1. The target area will show visual feedback indicating it can accept the dragged content
2. Release the mouse button, and the content will automatically be inserted at the target location
3. CrossPaste will automatically select the most suitable data format based on the target application type

Supported Content Types

The drag and drop feature supports the following types of pasteboard content:

• Text: Can be dragged to any area that supports text input
• Rich Text: Maintains formatting when dragged to applications that support rich text
• Images: Can be dragged to image editors, document editors, etc.
• Files: Can be dragged to file managers or applications that support file reception
