Floating Button — Quick Clipboard Access Anytime

The Floating Button provides a persistent, always-on-top shortcut to your clipboard history. Tap it from any app to instantly view and use your recent clipboard entries.

Enable the Floating Button

  1. CrossPaste requires the "Display over other apps" permission. When you toggle the floating button on, you'll be prompted to grant this permission if it hasn't been granted already.
  2. Go to Settings in CrossPaste and enable the Floating Button toggle.

Usage

  • Tap the floating button to view your latest clipboard item.
  • Long-press and drag to reposition the button anywhere on screen.
  • The button stays on top of all other apps for instant access.

Scenarios

  • Multi-app switching: Quickly paste content when working across multiple apps.
  • Reading and note-taking: Copy excerpts while reading and access them without leaving your reader app.
  • Quick paste: One-tap access to your most recent clipboard entry.

Notes

  • The floating button does not block the status bar or navigation bar.
  • You can toggle it off at any time from CrossPaste settings.
  • Some device manufacturers (OEMs) may have additional restrictions on overlay permissions. If the floating button does not appear, check your device's app permission settings.
