CrossPaste Mobile Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 1, 2026
Welcome to CrossPaste Mobile!
The CrossPaste mobile application ("the App") is developed and operated by Shenzhen Compile Future Technology Co., Ltd. ("we," "us," "our," or "SCF"). This agreement governs the CrossPaste mobile builds for Android and iOS. The desktop edition's terms of service and its open-source statement are available in the CrossPaste Terms of Service; the AGPL license that applies to the desktop edition does not apply to this App.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all terms of this agreement. If you do not agree to any part, please stop using and uninstall the App immediately.
1. Acceptance and Eligibility
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- If you are under 18, please review this agreement together with your parent or guardian and obtain their consent before using the App, especially before any in-app purchase.
- Where applicable, you confirm that the payment information you provide is true, accurate, and complete.
2. Service and Operation
- Client-Tool Nature: The App is a clipboard manager and multi-device sync client. Its main functions run on your device and within your local network.
- Core Features: Clipboard history, cross-device LAN synchronization, content search, and Pro-only value-added capabilities (such as keyboard extensions, photo album sync, and home-screen widgets — final feature set as shown in the App).
- Operating Mechanism: Clipboard contents are end-to-end encrypted between paired devices on your local network and do not pass through our cloud servers.
- Closed Source: The App is closed-source software owned by SCF. The GNU Affero General Public License v3 applied to the desktop edition does not apply to the App's client code.
- Service Changes: We may adjust, optimize, or terminate features at our discretion based on product roadmap, applicable law, or third-party platform policies.
3. Account and Subscriptions
3.1 Free vs. Pro
- Free: Includes the core clipboard features and multi-device sync. The Free tier displays banner ads on both iOS and Android.
- Pro: Unlocks advanced features and removes ads via in-app purchase or subscription. The exact feature delta is shown inside the App.
3.2 Renewal Mechanics
Pro billing differs by channel; please read the rule that applies to the channel you use:
- iOS (App Store) / Android (Google Play) — auto-renewing subscription:
- The subscription fee is charged at purchase and renews automatically before each renewal date.
- Renewal is charged by the relevant app store 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. To cancel auto-renewal, turn it off in the app store's subscription management page at least 24 hours before that date.
- After cancellation you may continue to use Pro features until the end of the already-paid billing period; thereafter the subscription will not renew and Pro entitlements will lapse.
- Android — Mainland-China channels (Xiaomi, Huawei, etc.) — monthly one-time purchase:
- Pro entitlement is purchased one month at a time via Alipay or WeChat Pay; there is no auto-renewal.
- When the purchased month ends, Pro features automatically lapse. To continue, manually purchase the next month inside the App.
- Because no recurring charge exists, you do not need to cancel anything and you will not be charged unexpectedly.
Past billing periods or already-consumed purchase months are non-refundable, except as required by applicable law or as set out in Section 4.
3.3 Payment by Channel
| Channel | Billing Model | Payment Method | Management |
|---|---|---|---|
| iOS (App Store) | Auto-renewing subscription | Apple In-App Purchase | iOS Settings → your Apple ID at the top → Subscriptions |
| Android — Google Play | Auto-renewing subscription | Google Play Billing | Google Play → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions |
| Android — Mainland-China channels (Xiaomi, Huawei, etc.) | Monthly one-time purchase | Alipay or WeChat Pay (your choice) | In-App "Pro page" — review expiration date and re-purchase monthly |
Payment and refund rules vary by channel and are governed by the applicable app store or third-party payment provider's own terms, to which you also agree when using the corresponding payment method.
4. Refunds
Refund eligibility, the application process, and processing time are described in the CrossPaste Refund Policy. Channel-specific notes:
- App Store / Google Play: Refunds are reviewed and processed directly by Apple or Google. They must be requested through the official channels; SCF cannot approve them on your behalf.
- Mainland-China channels (Alipay / WeChat Pay): Refunds are handled by SCF in accordance with the Refund Policy.
5. Intellectual Property
- Ownership of the App: The client code, binaries, UI design, icons, brand identity, official documentation, and related assets are owned by SCF and protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.
- Difference from the Desktop Edition: Unlike the desktop edition, which is open-sourced under AGPL v3, the App is closed-source software. You may not decompile, reverse engineer, modify, redistribute, resell, or lease the App without written authorization.
- Third-Party Components: Open-source components used by the App are subject to their respective licenses. Notices are available inside the App at "About → Open-Source Licenses."
6. User Conduct
You agree to use the App lawfully and responsibly. In particular:
- Lawful Use: Do not use the App to sync, transmit, store, or distribute content that violates applicable laws or regulations, including content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or reputation rights, or violates public order and morals.
- No Sync Abuse: Do not use the App for large-scale automated data exfiltration, spam, or to bypass copyright protection.
- System Security: Do not perform malicious attacks, distribute malware, plant malicious code, or attempt to bypass the App's security or billing mechanisms.
- Payment Integrity: Do not obtain Pro entitlements through deception, theft, or any unlawful means.
If you breach any of the above, we may immediately restrict or terminate your access to relevant features and reserve all rights to pursue legal remedies.
7. Advertising Disclosure
- Free tier: Banner ads are shown on both iOS and Android Free tiers. Worldwide channels (App Store outside China, Google Play) are served by Google AdMob; Mainland-China channels (iOS in China, Xiaomi/Huawei and other domestic Android stores) are served by Pangle.
- Pro: No ads on iOS or any Android channel.
Advertising content is provided by advertisers. Your interactions with advertisers and any resulting legal relationship are between you and the advertiser; SCF is not a party.
8. Third-Party Terms
When you choose to use the corresponding capabilities, you also agree to be bound by the relevant third party's terms:
- Using Alipay payments: subject to the Alipay Service Agreement and its privacy policy.
- Using WeChat Pay: subject to the WeChat Pay user agreement and its privacy policy.
- Using Google Play paid features: subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
- Using Apple In-App Purchase: subject to the Apple Media Services Terms.
- iOS Free ads are served by Google and Pangle; see their respective notices.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "AS IS," without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
- Performance: We do not warrant that the App will run without error on every phone model, Android version, or iOS version, nor do we warrant uninterrupted service.
- Data Risk: Although end-to-end encryption protects synchronization, we are not liable for data loss caused by force majeure, hardware failure, third-party SDK faults, or malicious third-party attacks.
- App-Store Policies: App-store removals, compliance demands, or fee changes may affect the availability or subscription terms of the App. SCF reserves the right to adjust the service as needed.
- Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
10. Modification and Termination
- Updates to This Agreement: We may revise this agreement from time to time. Revised terms will be posted here and signaled by an in-app notice or by an updated Effective Date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
- Termination by Us: If you breach this agreement, we may at any time restrict or terminate your access to some or all features.
- Termination by You: You may terminate this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App or canceling your subscription. Already-paid, unconsumed billing periods are handled per Sections 3 and 4.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
- Governing Law: This agreement is governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding the laws of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan).
- Disputes: Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this agreement shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation. If negotiation fails, you agree to submit the dispute to the People's Court of Nanshan District, Shenzhen or another competent court at SCF's domicile.
